Istra Outdoor Junior Camp was created out of a desire to give children back what childhood truly needs: nature, movement, challenges and friendships. While children of today spend more and more time in front of screens, our camp offers a safe escape from screens where days are spent outdoors – in the forest, in the meadow and on the water – through activities that encourage curiosity, independence and team spirit.
The programme is designed for children aged 7 to 14 and conceived as a space for play, exploration and first adventures in nature. Through sport, creative activities and outdoor challenges, children develop self-confidence, responsibility and a love for movement. Mistakes are part of learning, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. With the support of an experienced team (kinesiologists, pedagogues, future sociologists and young athletes), children take initiative and responsibility, gain new skills and develop a sense of belonging. The programme is based on more than 25 years of working with children and 15 years of experience in organising camps.
Activities include team challenges, a boat excursion, a zip line, an adventure park, off-road rides, karting, STEAM workshops, learning the basics of first aid, getting to know the work of the mountain rescue service through rescue simulations, orienteering, knot-tying, meteorology, forest pedagogy workshops, mindfulness, climbing on an artificial wall, slacklining, archery, volleyball, football, a home-made pasta-making workshop and many other activities, while the days end with evening gatherings and a cinema on a meadow under the stars. At the end of the week, children leave not only with memories – they leave more independent, more confident and enriched with friendships and experiences that last long after summer. Children spend their days outdoors, in nature, taking part in a variety of outdoor activities, sports, creative programmes, team challenges, nature exploration, STEM workshops, excursions and various adventure activities. Alongside a break from screens, children gain knowledge and practical skills while developing human values through real-life experiences. Evenings include games, quizzes, dancing, night walks with headlamps and a cinema on the meadow under the starry sky. The programme develops self-confidence, independence, cooperation and a love of nature and movement.
Istra Outdoor Junior is a camp that combines knowledge, adventure and memorable experiences, especially for children who spend too much time on screens, have not yet developed independence or find it difficult to fit in.
If your child spends too much time on screens, struggles to fit in, does not want to go outside or lacks independence, Istra Outdoor Junior will give them a space to explore, move and develop life skills in the real world.
