Sailing School Orsan

Each year, the sailing school organised by the Orsan Sailing Club welcomes girls and boys eager to learn the basics of sailing. The training starts in the classroom, then moves on to hands-on lessons at sea.

Participants get to know the Optimist class dinghy, learning about its parts and how to prepare it for sailing. They are introduced to essential safety at sea, basic nautical skills, recognising different types of wind, as well as techniques for sailing in all directions. They practice knot tying, launching and boarding the boat, tacking, jibing and the steps for capsizing and recovering the dinghy.

The programme is designed to offer children a safe and enjoyable experience while inspiring a love for the sea and sailing.
