The main focal areas of the Jazz Summer School HGM in Grožnjan include one-on-one tuition with teachers, playing in small ensembles (combo), learning how a good rhythm section works, learning how to improvise on a given theme, and learning harmonic sequences. Good jazz music is complemented and enriched by diversity – so we welcome trombonists, trumpeters, violinists, flautists, and much more. If you like jazz and want to spend 10 days creating good music, we look forward to seeing you in Grožnjan.
The Jazz Summer School takes place alongside the international jazz festival Jazz is Back! BP, and the students will perform in the festival programme (individually and in groups). This also gives them the valuable opportunity to spend their evenings listening to older professional colleagues.

- Important information
- Accommodation is provided on the premises of the Center. The Center has several student houses (multi-bed dorm rooms with shared bathrooms).
- Participation does not include the price of meals. Meals are provided at special rates for workshop participants on the premises of the International Cultural Center, according to the option(s) selected in the application form.
- The prices are: breakfast: €15; lunch: €22; dinner: €22; full board: €44 per day.
- After the final production we will organise a social event and a diploma ceremony.
- Along with personal items (towel, appropriate clothing for public performances, instrument if you are a musician, a music stand, sheet music for piano accompaniment), please bring proof of travel insurance.
- Bass guitarists and guitarists should bring their own amplifiers. Drummers should bring minimal equipment (drum set, drum throne, hi-hat).

The working hours of the summer jazz school are every day (except on the day off, when trips to the coast are organized) from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00.
