Camp location

Golden Adriatic water polo camp is led and organized by Ivan Buljubašić, Olympics, World Championship and European Championship gold medalist and Mihovil Marinović, Masters European Championship gold medalist. Camp delivers a world-class experience for players of all skill levels, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Adriatic Sea and the majestic Biokovo Mountain. Hosted at the Valamar Hotel in Makarska, the camp features two professional water polo courts located directly in front of the hotel, offering a unique combination of top-quality training and stunning seaside scenery.

Led by experienced international coaches, the program blends high-intensity water polo sessions with exciting recreational activities, cultural exploration, and team-building adventures along Croatia’s spectacular Dalmatian coast. The Golden Adriatic Camp offers the ultimate blend of elite water polo training, adventure, and Dalmatian hospitality — a unique opportunity to grow as an athlete while enjoying one of the Adriatic’s most beautiful destinations.

    • Professional Training Environment: Two full-size water polo courts right by the sea, providing the perfect setting for skill development, technique refinement, and tactical instruction.
    • Technical & Tactical Sessions: Comprehensive training focused on fundamentals, advanced gameplay strategies, and position-specific development.
    • Competitive Matches: Friendly games against local Croatian clubs or intra-squad scrimmages to put new skills into practice.
    • Adventure & Excursions: Optional tours including the Skywalk Biokovo, rafting on the Cetina River, and island excursions to Hvar or Brač — combining sport with unforgettable natural experiences.
    • Team Building & Relaxation: Group activities, social evenings, and leisure time at Valamar’s beachfront facilities, ensuring a balanced and memorable stay.

Schedule

Day 1

Arrival

Transfer from the airport to the hotel (optional)

Check-in from 2 PM

Meet with the coaches and Easy swim-off training session from 7 PM to 8 PM

Dinner at the hotel

Day 2

Training day and special session

Breakfast, then practice from 9 AM to 11 AM.

Lunch at the hotel.

Speech by an Olympic gold medalist on how to become an elite Olympic water polo player, discussing the essence of the game and the commitment required from 5 PM to 5:45 PM.

Short training session from 6 PM to 7 PM followed by a game with a local team
from 7 PM to 8 PM.

Barbecue by the swimming pool

Day 3

Skywalk adventure

Breakfast at the hotel

Departure for the Skywalk Tour on top of Mount Biokovo. For those who aren't going to the Skywalk, practice is from 9 AM to 11 AM

Lunch at the hotel, followed by free time and rest Training session from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Dinner at the hotel.

Day 4

Match day

Breakfast and training from 9AM to 11AM

Lunch and rest

Transfer to Podgora at 8 PM for a match witch the local team at the 9 PM

Dinner at a local Podgora tavern

Return to the hotel.

Day 5

Sightseeing and match in Split

Breakfast at the hotel

Morning training session

Lunch at the hotel

Departure for Split

Friendly match at the Split swimming pool

Dinner in a traditional Dalmatian restaurant in Split Return to the hotel and overnight stay

Day 6

Island tour and match

Morning: Breakfast, then tour on the famous boat Mito

Visit the island of Hvar

Lunch on the boat.

Visit the island of Brač

Boat transfer to the water polo field for match against local team.

Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 7

Whitewater rafting

Breakfast at the hotel

Departure for White River Rafting on the Cetina River

Return to the hotel for rest

Evening water polo match

Dinner at the hotel

For those who aren't going to the Skywalk, practice is
from 9 AM to 11 AM followed by lunch at the hotel.
