Overnight Camp
Croki (short for Croatian Kids) is a children’s camp that has been held since 2020 in Punat on the island of Krk, organised by the Croatian Cultural Society Brussels in cooperation with local associations, institutions and schools. The camp is intended for Croatian children living abroad who, in addition to gaining independence, making wonderful friendships and acquaintances and enjoying time by the sea, will also actively learn and practice Croatian language in an interactive way.
A distinctive feature of this summer school is that each year the organisers prepare a new and original theme, which is explored with the participants through lessons in small groups, field classes, educational and creative workshops, the preparation of a final stage performance for parents, and, where possible, through an accompanying recreational and entertainment programme. The theme of summer school will be “Little Entrepreneurs with Big Ideas.” During the summer school, the children will first directly meet representatives of civil society, who will introduce them to the concept of a social issue. They will then work together to identify one specific social issue on the island of Krk that they would like to address during the summer school and to which they wish to find a solution through social entrepreneurship. Finally, they will try their hand at designing, producing, promoting and selling a product (through donations); the proceeds from the sale will be donated to selected associations. The price includes accommodation, full board, snacks (twice a day), a boat trip, entrance tickets, 24-hour supervision and animation, lessons and workshops, sports and recreational activities, creative materials and costumes for the final performance.

- Important information
- Applications are open until 30 April 2026.
- Children receive three cooked meals a day and two small snacks each day, so it is not necessary to bring food or snacks with them. With every meal, iced tea, juice or water is served; in the morning, tea or cocoa is offered. Each day, we bring water, fruit and snacks on excursions for the children. Breakfast and dinner are served on the terrace of Kantun hostel, while lunch is served on the terrace of the As Janos restaurant, a five-minute walk from the hostel.
- Please bring a passport or ID card, a health insurance card (Croatian or European), shower gel and shampoo, toothpaste and a toothbrush, sun cream, mosquito repellent, a beach towel, two swimsuits, layered clothing for rain and wind, beach footwear, a pair of trainers, any necessary medication, pocket money (up to EUR 30), a water bottle and a backpack for excursions.

- Rules of conduct
- We respect others, look after younger participants and do not insult anyone.
- We keep together and inform the leaders if we are to move away.
- We regularly apply sun cream and wash our hands.
- We take part in all activities and collect points for effort and good behaviour.
- Mobile phones are allowed only briefly in the evening; otherwise they are kept by the group leaders.
- We behave appropriately and take care of the space and equipment.
- We keep our rooms tidy and do not bring food into them.
- We take care of our hygiene and shower every day.
- We respect others, look after younger participants and do not insult anyone.
